Hey everyone, I plan on doing some highbanking in northern ca. I am gong to be discharging into a settling pond well away from the river, I'm just wondering if I need any special permits or anything with all the rules and regulations in Ca, Any info would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

No you do not .Just make sure the water going back to the river is not full of dirt.I run a highbanker on a regular basis .Some will say you do .As long as you are not digging on dry land and running the highbanker in the river you are fine.

One more thing if you run your highbanker in the river you have to dig in the river .And check with the usfs in your area.

Thanks for the info Joseph, I plan to dig on dry land and discharge my water on dry land as well, i would imagine that would be ok.
