Please help.  Does anyone know what brand of waders (knee high) that Tom Massey wears in some of his episodes of Gold Fever?  My knee high waders have a steel toe and it gives me fits with my metal detector....Plus they give me blisters - Tom seems to get around, in the episodes that he is wearing his knee high waders, very comfortably.  They appear to be an all rubber boot.

Other than what Tom Massey wears, does anyone have a recommendation for "Knee High Rubber Wader" boots?  What brand is everyone else using and what do you think of them?  I'm not looking for the most expensive, nor the cheapest - Just a good quality, waterproof, all rubber, knee high, boot, without a steel toe, that I can use to walk in the shallow streams all day long without setting off the metal detector, getting my feet wet and getting blisters?

Also, if you have a recommendation as to what type of "Knee High Rubber Wading Boots" not to buy, that would help as well.

    Thank You!

I use Magellan "Bibb" type with attached socks. I wear river boots over my wader socked feet. The combination is very comfortable in a wide range of weather and water temps. I bought both on sale at Academy Sports about three years ago. My only concern is stepping into a deep hole and not coming up so I carry several very sharp knives to insure an escape is handy.

Thanks for the information...yes, I was concerned about the "possible fall down",..long time ago I use to fish streams, I found wearing a belt on the outside helped too.

    Thank you

I use a pair of Columbia Brand Knee-high mud/water boots that are VERY comfortable as they are lined, soft rubber with a great tread pattern and you can wear them with socks or bare foot. I believe I got them from Gander or Academy Sports for about 39.99. You can catch them on sale occasionally or get lucky and find them at Ross or TJ Max for $19.99.

    Regards!
