Talked to the BLM and Corp of Engineers and both said they don't issue dredge permits. The Engineers kept telling me the claim is the one that gets the permit and anyone can work under it. Never heard anything like that and just wondering where the permits are available from what dept. This is small mining not commercial and that is where directed to find info.

Not sure in AZ Here in Cal, when we used to be able to get them, was through the dept of fish and game, now the dept of fish and wildlife Not sure AZ requires dredge permits, do your research Bill

I'm in NV and used to get CA permit when available. Guide says Corp of Engineers issues dredge permits in AZ but when I contact them they say they don't. Contacted the BLM and they referred me to the Corp. Corp tell me to read the regulations for major mining and follow all the regulations as bond, reclamation of property and such and cover one area for the year. Just want a dredge permit that is good across the state but having a heck of a time finding one. There is a bunch of people that want to dredge or do in AZ and just want to know how they got their permit .

BLM is not in the dredge permit business, and the Corp doesn't require for small scale dredging in virtually all states. Corp usually only deals with the bigger stuff like dredging shipping channels. Check with the states water board, fish and wildlife and the mineral/geology dept. One of those should be able to either have the info or direct you to it. Here in Oregon we have to deal with Division of State lands and Dept. of Enviornmental Quality.

Frank, did you get any answers regarding your dredge permit yet? US Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, Regulatory Division/Arizona Branch. 3636 North Central Avenue, Suite 900, Phoenix, Arizona, 85012 ref Section 404 (clean water act)(33 U.S.C. 1344; 33 C.F.R. Parts 323 and 330) Corps of Engineers can issue a Nationwide Permit Arizona Department of Environmental Quality 1110 West Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona, 85007, 602-771-2300 Can waive Individual certification pursuant to Section 401 under the NWP Plans of Operation and Notice of Intent may also be required by the USFS for the district where you plan operations. Normally a club would file all of these for claims held by the club. I do not know if LDMA or GPAA have these in place for any of our claims. You dont need a permit to dredge in AZ so long as you are using a 6 inch or smaller dredge.
