Matt. I am going to prospect in Idaho this summer, do not plan to buy claim. Have truck and camper to spend extended time at sites. To explore possibilities contact me if of interest. Jerry Johnson 540-798-7298

Matt- Can't help with anyone to look for.  But if the seller won't  give you permission to do any sampling where YOU want to,  RUN, as fast as you are able.  Without the opportunity to do sampling, you are buying a pig in a poke.  Lot of "file and sell" folks out there.

Make sure you understand who does the paperwork on it.  You will need to fill out location form, file with the county recorder, and send to BLM office (usually the state office) along with the fees.  Be sure to get a quit claim deed for it as well, and send copy along with the paperwok to BLM.

The other thing to look for is :   Is it just a mining claim (Just gives you the mineral rights, can't keep people from doing other activities such as camp, hunt, fish, hike, horseback, firewood, timber harvest, etc.) or is it a "patented" claim.  Patented claim is private property, just like a lot in town.  Hence, patented claims go for way more money than a regular mining claim.

    Jerry,

Don’t have any help for you, but get up to Idaho often for work and would be interested to hear what you find up there. Would probably schedule my work so I could prospect over the weekend if it’s decent. Heavy pans!
