GRIZZLY GOLD A

Decent flood gold in creek...BENCH material productive. Dig deep (about 3-4 feet). I believe my best gold came from the blue green clay and rust colored gravels...older material. Photo does not include cons from two days of playing in the creek. FYI to my GPAA friends-10/15/2019 update to my last post in 2017 = any/all claims in Plumas County are good! Great area, except gasoline is outrageous. Own my own claim in Plumas County now and absolutely love it thanks to Grizzly Gold A/GPAA. Be aware of your surroundings, bear and mountain lions in the area. Not a problem/don’t harm...but be alert. God Bless!

I have visited these claims often in past years! very easy access and the fine and flake gold is good. Mainly flood and run off gold with an occasional small nuggie!! I used to visit more often but ran into an older gentleman who had a claim further up little Grizzley and ended up owning his claims--long story. Point is you all should start using these claims! Beautiful country, east day trip and the way in from Lake Davis has lots of road repair this year. Try it!! You'll definitely find color in your pans if you do!!

FYI GPAA friends, 07/2019 revisit again revealed decent flood gold in/near heavily dug creek and even pickers from older BENCH material. Dig deep (3-4 feet). I believe my best gold came from the blue/green clay and older rust colored gravel. Notice the silver colored gold in the top vial…came from a deep bottom bedrock catch that concentrated mercury amalgamated gold left by the old timers unfortunately. Be cautious when you run across this, making sure not to ingest by rubbing eyes, picking nose, eating after messing with such material without thoroughly washing your hands.

Don’t be fooled, any/all claims in Plumas County are good and Little Grizzly Creek is a great area to prospect. Indian Valley is a special/pristine area. Grizzly Gold A sparked my interest of the area in 2017. Sample photos of Plumas County/Little Grizzly Creek gold above don’t even include saved concentrates. Be alert and aware of your surroundings, abundant wildlife including bear and mountain lion...fun to see from a distance. God Bless.

Our first claim as brand new GPAA members, this place was pretty easy to get to, not a lot of gold , but great potential.
We spent a few hours here, had a lot of fun.
Drop dead beautiful country.

Prospecting is like 🎣 fishing, some days they bite and some days they don’t. Like David, I’ve had frustrating days as well, but persistence and hard work are usually rewarded. In areas that have been extensively worked, like this claim has, I tend NOT to spend much time in the stream. I prefer to sit on BENCHES 😊. Notice the photo of how I cleaned this bench. The photo is from a different location, but gives an example of how I have found success. This bench was completely filled in with gravel and the bedrock was not exposed. All the small bedrock crevices were thoroughly cleaned and swept with a broom and paint brush before I covered it back up. The top layer of gravel carried some flood gold, but the BEAUTIFUL bedrock catches and cracks held the BEST surprises 👍. I have also learned and noticed that many locations that have been extensively worked, have not always been thoroughly cleaned like my example photo. Decent gold is often left behind on bedrock/false bedrock (clay layers) and in cracks and crevices. The smallest homemade tools for cleaning out small crevices work the best. I like small dental tools...H. Freight has a great and inexpensive set.
