I now have some spare time and would like to team-up with some detector enthusiasts. I have access to the areas south of the south fork of the American river and east of Salmon Falls road. Anyone interested in some nugget/etc detecting some time during the next week, contact me via email or this forum. You would need the ability to handle a moderately difficult hike of about 2-3 miles along trails. Elevation gain/loss of about 600 feet. It would be a day trip of 4-6 hours so snacks, water, ...

Greetings from Yuba City, CA. I'm Alex and plan to go to an private gold claim near Washington, CA on March 12-14 (Thurs- Sat). The claim is on a feeder creek into the South Fork of the Yuba River. I have a full wet suit, crevicing tools, hookah system, metal detector, etc, (basically everything except a dredge or highbanker). I've also got a trusty 4wd. It all started from my interest in gold when I moved to Virginia in 2000 and found out our property is right in the middle of the Gold Belt of Virginia. Looking for a claim that was in an old issue of mining guide. Don't remember the exact year. Around 1992 or 1994 there was a claim in Georgia that was Army Corp of Engineers as lead title of claim. Small creek that had a dam across it at bridge. My first flake of gold was here. My stepson is interested in seeing that claim.
