14 Replies and 3487 Views Your Best Bet  3487  14 Started by  GSHRUM101@YAHOO.COM Good day all. Yes I am a greenhorn and not afraid to admit it. I have looked forward for a long time to put my first bit of dirt in a gold pan. I have been a member for many years and have never been prospecting one single time in my life. I believed in what the GPAA stood for and for what they were doing for their members. I have dreamed of going to the Alaska Gold Camp but I understand it is not operating any longer as a community camp. I just became a lifetime member and want to plan my first...

8 Replies and 2697 Views Who's ready to get out and find some treasure/gold  2697  8 Started by  aztreasurehunter@outlook.com If anyone is interested in meeting up to go do some treasure hunting or gold mining/panning please let me know. I am new to the hobby and enjoying every moment. That said i have my own equipment so I am ready to go. I prefer to prospect and explore with a group. It gets kind of sketchy being in the desert by yourself.

3 Replies and 2402 Views Arsenopyrite questions/concerns from a newbie  2402  3 Started by  alex.nutu@student.prescott.edu Hi friends, I am very new member and new to prospecting, I found a place near Prescott that had signs of digging around it on open land, and I came across what I think is ArsenoPyrite, lots of it, in addition to regular pyrite and maybe some chalcopyrite. Is it safe to handle Arsenopyrite does one need gloves, a mask, or should I not even bother with the stuff I got freaked out when I identified the mineralization I found as Arsenopyrite, have never heard of it before but really don't want Ars...
