Arsenopyrite questions/concerns from a newbie 1841 3
Started by alex.nutu@student.prescott.edu
Hi friends, I am very new member and new to prospecting, I found a place near Prescott that had signs of digging around it on open land, and I came across what I think is ArsenoPyrite, lots of it, in addition to regular pyrite and maybe some chalcopyrite. Is it safe to handle Arsenopyrite does one need gloves, a mask, or should I not even bother with the stuff I got freaked out when I identified the mineralization I found as Arsenopyrite, have never heard of it before but really don't want Ars...

I bought membership in GOAA and a new fisher gold metal detector. And more sluiceing pans and a portable gold wash plant. Only takes 3 gallons of water and I also go to new Mexico and Colorado often. I am looking to buy a property in south Dakota this spring.

** Correct Me If I'm Wrong** But... I've noticed that a printed copy of the G.P.A.A. Claims Guide is currently only available to full year or life long signing members. I looked to buy the printed edition online at the store, but found that it couldn't be purchased. I'm mainly interested in Mapping 3D Google earth G.P.A.A. claims for an aerial view to reference potential dig locations (Ex.: You Tube 'Gold Trails' with Kevin Hoagland, '3D interactive mapping with you GPAA Mining Guide an...

My wife got me a membership for Christmas. And I wanted to introduce myself. I’m located in West Virginia and I know that it’s been said there’s no gold in WV. But I find that hard to believe. Gold has been found in Ohio and in Virginia don’t see how it skipped WV. But anyway just wanted to introduce myself. Just ordered a Gold Bug Pro from Kellyco last night. Look forward to meeting some of you and finding gold. See ya around

Road tripping 1430 1
Started by beausang.daniel@gmail.com
So I’m from Maine and this is our off season. I’m brand new to the gpaa but have been prospecting for a few years now. I’ve recently went through a pretty bad break up and I’m off work for the rest of the month. So what better of a time to go out and dig. Was curious what states out west where still able to be prospected and or what claims I should check out through the gpaa. I would only be bringing a river sluice and pans. Since I will most likely end up be sleeping in my car I won’t have much...

Recently retired new member here. I live in Las Cruces and just bought a Gold Monster 1000 hoping to do some nugget shooting after an overload of YouTube videos. Unfortunately my first outing in the desert nearby didn’t go very well. A lot of spent cases and lead. I know this isn’t AZ and that our club has three claims in Hillsboro and I’m headed that way tomorrow; but does anyone know of any places further south, closer to Las Cruces that might be worth taking a look at Thank you a...

Park Co. Montana 1698 2
Started by jef1eff@gmail.com
I noticed in my Gold Prospector magazine that Ole Miner & Seven-Dee in Park Co. Montana had recently received reviews. Logging into the mining Guide to check the reviews out , Park county doesn't seem to be listed. My Physical copy of my Mining Guide was stolen a while back so I'm not sure if it is listed, just not online. If anyone can help me out with coordinates or additional info on Park Co. That would be awesome Thanks

Separating very fine gold 1873 3
Started by huskerjk1@gmail.com
Earlier this spring I went to a Colorado placer site and brought back some pay dirt that i ran thru a sluce box . I tried panning, the Blue Bowl and I have a Black Magic setup and still am having issues separating the very fine flour type gold without losing it. I seem to loose the gold before the black sand. I use dishwasher drying agent and have a 45 magnet. Just can't seem to get the gold. Any suggestions without spending more money on more gadgets Thanks.

Taking Care of Business while prospecting 1810 3

Hello! I am new to prospecting and new to GPAA but having a great time so far. Recently I found myself on a claim out in the Sierras with no immediate access to facilities. I was grossed out when I saw a very shallow 'pit' covered in used toilet paper between the parking lot and the creek. Not only was it close to the creek (<50ft), which can create unhygienic conditions for us all in the creek, it was in what looked like the leftovers of a dredge operation that would otherwise be a good pla...
