4 Replies and 4455 Views Idaho Claims Open?  4455  4 Started by  cw@kalisoft.com I know most, if not all of the national forest campgrounds are closed in Idaho, but wondering if someone can still access the GPAA claims Thinking some of the claims would be a good place to 'shelter in place' for a week or so. If anyone knows anything, would appreciate some info.

Then two weeks later got a letter from the district ranger suspending my work untill they checked for artifacts. The area has been minded by big outfits since the 1800s. The pictures in the video are from Grass Valley to Beckwourth and just about every camp or village in between. When Gold was discovered in California in 1848 it started a mass expedition to the territory in search of great wealth. I hope you enjoy the pictures and the video I just love visiting the Historic mining towns and sites .

2 Replies and 1352 Views Maps  1352  2 Started by  ricksmail@gmx.com HH Engineering in Orlando, Fl sells 'Gold Maps' purported to contain info from numerous geological/mining/ gov sources-with GPS coordinates. I know I could get most of this myself, but at 29 bucks for a state map with hundreds of sites, GPS, Ghost Towns, it sounds enticing. Has anyone purchased from these folks and if so, are you satisfied Thanks in advance Rick

I have an RV and can’t find information on which locations I can stay at. Or for haw long and Amenities. Also I do not find a map of locations. I have to google each one Individually. Than they give me the information for the general public. How does being a member of GPAA differ, I must be missing something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil

8 Replies and 2793 Views Prospecting permit  2793  8 Started by  johnrmckeel@gmail.com I am new to prospecting and plan an outing to southern Nevada in the next few weeks. I wanted to go to one of the GPAA claims and explore. I read in my copy of the Mining Guide that I am required to have the guide with me, my membership card to GPAA and a 'Prospecting Permit'. I don't recall this permit. I assume it would have come in my membership package but can't find anything. How can I obtain one Thank you.
