Trip to Little Miami 5257 7
Started by golfballbill67@yahoo.com
Went to Georgia to do a little highbanking, got snowed in for several days, was unable to do any highbanking. Got back home to Ohio and had that itch I just had to scratch, so I went to the Little Miami. About 3 hours of running, ended up with some nice gold and a big fossil. Will be grateful to anyone who can help identify the fossil.

Miller Table Surface 3881 3
Started by davidvanderpool@att.net
I obtained a 12'x30' slab of natural slate, about 3/8' thick, and was considering using it to build a Miller Table. The flat surfaces appear to be along the natural cleavage; basically smooth, but with very slight ripples. It is not perfectly smooth and flat like a chalkboard. There is a monument/gravestone business near me that would have the machinery to plane the surface flat, plus saw off the rough edges. Would this be recommended, or would the 'natural' slate surface be superior Th...

K- River camp ground 1957 1
Started by r08faler@yahoo.com
Spent the day 9/21/2019 at K-River campground, awesome campground, friendly people but no gold. Tried several places on the river. Lady at the camp said several people have panned there with no luck. Also, the photo of camp is outdated. Nice place to relax, get your feet wet. Easy to find. No thumbs up from me.

Minnesota 4460 3
Started by twins.fan91@yahoo.com
I am a retired Marine who recently moved back to Minnesota and I am interested in prospecting here. I live in Lake City and would like to find places close to me. I have read about Nugget Lake in Wisconsin quite a bit, but have not been there yet. I know about the gold rush on the Zumbro river near Oronoco and that that area is on private land. I am assuming that prospecting would be better above the dam creating Lake Zumbro, but do not know if there are places for the pu...

Anyone in SoCal go to Barstow? 2219 5
Started by garcia92551@yahoo.com
I’m back and forth from the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire. I have a drywasher and a gold monster 1000 and would like to use my drywasher in the Barstow area but I don’t have a 4x4. I almost lost a bumper last time I tried going to drywashing claim. I’m new to this and would like to find a prospecting buddy.

Greetings all. I apologize in advance, this is somewhat a sob story....I am a disabled vet, alone and with PTSD that keeps me in the mountains and in nature and as far away from people as possible. I cant climb or dig with a shovel, nor can I hike or walk very far. I also am being made to suffer with massive pain issues due to my allergies to pain medications. All I'm really looking to do is be in and around creeks and streams etc, and learn how and where to do some light panning, where I can f...

fine gold recovery 1624 3
Started by randy82271@gmail.com
I have only been in to gold hunting for about a year. I always wanted to try and finally took the leap at the Alabama gold camp. The camp is mostly fine gold in courtesy piles. And a little bigger sometimes in creek but harder digging. My question is. I run a high banker and classify to 3/8 thru my header box. Would it be best to classify to a little bigger than gold you will find and bypass all the other larger stuff And take a chance of missing that rare nugget. Think blasting o...

Colorado Update, HIT IT NOW 1769 7
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
Ron and Stacy Kennedy came up from Texas and wanted to work some claims so he gave me a call and I took him down to the FLW, BOSS, and Snake City Claims. It was a good trip and a decent amount of flood gold and one small nugget found. I myself just went down with shovel, classifier, bucket and pan. Ron carried down a small sluice and we worked two different areas in a bend of the claim. It wasn't the best spot on the river but at least I knew it had color and the scenery is beautiful. No rattles...

Gold Ore 2228 5
Started by 33oneworld@gmail.com
I have a benchmark 15 ton punch press that I made a crusher for to crush rocks down for tumbling. I can make it crush to powder also. Is it worth it for me to get Gold Ore to crush and try to get the gold out or is it just to fine for the beginner with limited resources. I have sheets of aircraft aluminum and I made my own sluice box. I bought the burlap, minor moss and the 'V' groove matting along with a set of riffles. I have been running the sluice at 7 degrees right now in basement into a ...

Ohio Panning 1720 5
Started by 33oneworld@gmail.com
I have found some Gold in the western part of Ohio under a super magnifier but nothing that the kids seem to enjoy. Are there still places that you can go and find flower Gold or just a bit bigger I was going to buy some pay dirt just to let them have fun but since Im a member I would rather go and hunt for it on a claim which to me is part of the learning and adventure. Thanks for your time and any guidance is better then none.
