8 Replies and 8376 Views Notice of Intent and/or Plan of Operation  8376  8 Started by  chris@northpines.us I'm a GPAA member in Arizona and I am a high banker using a Goldwell Sluice.  I have been reading my 2014 Mining Guide. I am wanting to work some of the GPAA Claims here in AZ.  My question is, does my membership in GPAA include a blanket notice of intent and/or Plan of Operation for all GPAA claims in AZ  Or, do I personally need to file for these permits for each claim I intend to work  Just curios about what my membership includes.  Any...

3 Replies and 6591 Views Another reason Partners are SOOOOO important  6591  3 Started by  crashcrain@gmail.com   You got your gear, your rifle, and you know exactly where you are going and are doing nothing but pussy-footing it down to a crick . But all of a sudden at 1/2 mile per hour your four wheeler hooks a rock, that sends it into a rut, and sends the 4 wheeler straight up the side sending you flying. You remember the pain of your head and back hitting the rock,,,,       And then you come too with you pinned under the 4 wheeler with it still running, You manage to turn ...

8 Replies and 9018 Views New Forum - what are those dots  9018  8 Started by  ed@braggfamily.com I couldn't find a forum to post, so I'll post here in hopes of everybody being able to see it and it may be beneficial to new members.  1. What are those dots below a users name (1-6 dots, yellow or green) What do they mean 2. Why is there no 'General Discussions' forum for general Gold Prospecting or GPAA / LDMA discussions that don't fit into other forum categories 3. Everybody knows that the GPAA forums are very user UNFRIENDLY and sluggish and most likely the cause for lack ...

6 Replies and 31976 Views Dissolving Ore?  31976  6 Started by  crashcrain@gmail.com So I have some medium grade ore, real hard rock stuff, not the soft stuff you get in Georgia or the Carolina's. I by hand pulverized these rocks down and then placed the sands into Muriatic acid thinking it would dissolve most of it down. I placed it in fresh acid 3 separate times over a month. Once I panned the remaining tailings I had a mixture of gold and pyrite, about 1/3 gold and 2/3rds pyrite, but now I am stuck.     What is the best way to separate the two   Do I swit...

3 Replies and 12276 Views Tips’ for Gold Panning and Prospecting in Wyoming  12276  3 Started by  Timmelko@hotmail.com I contracted gold fever recently while on Vacation this July in Cheyenne Wyoming for Frontier Days. I stopped by a little store called Diggin’ It in Cheyenne where I purchased a basic panning starter kit and a bag of pay pay-dirt to try my luck. The guy was super nice and even tried to talk me out of buying a shovel from him that he mentioned I could get cheaper at Home Depot.  I did find several little bits of gold totaling .315 Grams. It was enough to get me hooked!   Unfortu...
