I'm going to be in the Couer d'Alene Id area june-20-27th. I see from our guide that we have several claims in Idaho. I would like to get out on at least 1 GPAA claim. Im looking at the Nahkohe Morningstar claim but open to any suggestions. Im planning on bringing my sluice and pans and just need to get pointed in the right direction. Any info or suggestions on which claim to visit would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Brett

Any input on metal detectors would be great. I am looking at buying one this year (this is the wife) I've been looking at the Garrett AT Gold, any opinions on it Any others I should be looking at in the same price range We are looking at spending about $700-$800 on one. I want one that will find gold! I know they won't find the fine stuff, but we have nuggets to use with it to learn what the sound on the detector is for gold. Thanks for any help.

Not really sure this is the correct place to post this.
I am a greenhorn to prospecting having only about a year and a half under my belt. I am a greenhorn to GPAA. I am going to be heading to one of the 3 claims in El Dorado NF this Friday.. my question is this, Can I bring my brother with me I know I have to have my permit and card with me.. but is he,as family allowed to join me I know the areas pretty good and know that at times you will run into people that..well you know

I was out riding in a friend's 4 wheeler, and I spotted an old Chinese rock wall on the edge of a wash, I noticed that the wash had cut away a bank about 6-10 ft tall for about 100 yrds. upstream from the Chinese rock wall. So I went to husker and dug some dirt. Instead of panning it out in a puddle I decided to take it to a stream and set up my sluice. I have a jobe folding stream sluice. After the painstaking task of setting it up, I thought I had it set up properly. It took 2.5 hours to run 8 gallons of dirt through it. The first and 3rd riffle clogged with every scoop. Is there a way to find out about new claims that are not in the current claims guide I am planning to go to the LDMA site at Burnt River Oregon soon and want to know if there are new claims nearby, or on the western side of Idaho. I have my Pick and Shovel Gazettes in storage currently so I can't go back through them. There needs to be an easy place to find the unpublished claims on the menus .

I've been a member for a few years now and I have had the time to take ONE trip to the FARM in Ga. The Wife and I had a great time in meeting other members but felt a tad ill equipped with our little bazooka and a few pans.
