Instant find with new Fisher metal Detector! 2008 0
Started by crashcrain@gmail.com
I got out of my car and had my new Fisher tuned up and configured right and wasn't 20 meters from the car before I got a strong signal, and non Iron at that. So I dug for a bit, dug a bit more, and behold, the lead wheel weight for a vehicle.
I found some foil, and a really old can, but I can't say anything worth while. I have it set to find a match head size nugget pretty deep so I guess out of the three most popular metals of the old west I found the least expensive one, I guess bett...

I live in central Illinois and was thinking of making the trip to Ohio to a lease property. The mining guide Land Status says: Private & This is a lease property. There are no gps coordinates only directions. Also no point of contact here. Do I still need permission to prospect on this claim Do I need any permits other than my membership card to start finding yellow there Can I just drive and prospect

I'm bringing some homemade equipment but I understand that there is some equipment that can be rented. Any and all input you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello fellow members and non-members.
I just felt compelled to pass along how impressed I am with the GPAA as an organization. I received my membership kit as promised (and then some) and could not have been happier with the contents and quality.
Here in Idaho you've given me and my family several locations to enjoy, and wanted to thank you for giving us that opportunity!
Now, on to the gold!

Good morning. I clicked on the button to join a chapter but didn't see any change to my membership. I talked with the lady in charge and she told me that she hadn't seen anything on my submission. She has added me to that chapter but I still do not see that I am a chapter member. Anyone else had this problem

New to area and could use some help? 2282 0

The wife and I drove down to Montrose County this weekend down HWY 141 and the river was too deep and running too fast to find a place to pan. I will admit we found some pretty cool rocks from the tailings from old mines and one literally covered our hands in gold dust, it was finer than I have ever seen. But we are looking for a place and a group of people to set up with, learn the area, and then purchase a sluice.

Better late than never, or still a pipe dream? 6651 2
Started by Cpc1to3@hotmail.com
My days as a prospector came about suddenly, when my wife and son presented my first gold pan and bag of paydirt for my 26th birthday (October 2014). They had observed my love for geology through stories of picking quartz out of my Uncle's Arkansas driveway, to cracking open fossilized ferns and mushrooms picked from Shadow Lake, IL. I often watched 'Gold Rush' with them, and dreamed of being a genuine miner. Not knowing of the immense world of small-scale mining, I was quick to abando...
