lode and placer claim overlaps 14030 6
Started by rshafersr@gmail.com
i've searched thru the BLM sites and can't find any reference to the legality of prospecting for placer deposits inside the borders of and active lode claim. i'm interested to find out if, by filing a lode claim, that gives the owner of that claim the right to ALL forms of gold deposits within the claim boundaries. if not, then wouldn't it be interesting to sample for placer and if found then file a placer claim on the same property....

Prepping my green pan 6451 3
Started by lauriespicer27@icloud.com
I saw an article on prepping a newly obtained gold pan earlier this year in the pick and shovel gazette. With my membership I received a new gold pan and would like some input as the gazette has come up missing. My wife obtained some concentrates for my anniversary present and I was hoping to get some practice in while the weather and work schedule hinder prospecting in the near future. Thank you in advance for your help and Happy Holidays. Dave

OK so we are new to this and I am having a hard time trying to figure out what and why there is a difference between 99.9 pure gold and 18k gold. Please do not laugh at me, I am sure some of you will find this funny. I have 62.30 grams of gold, nuggets and fine, we are on some hard times as I am disabled and you don't need to here the rest. Anyway I wanted to know the difference between the purity of what we find in the field and the 99.9 pure I keep coming across. Also the difference be...

Hello everyone! My name is Noel and from Az. I have been a member since 1992, but really haven't taken advantage of the membership much. I like to keep my dues current because I believe in the right of prospecting and mining. I would have joined a local club years ago, but my work schedule got in the way. I do hope to get out more this year though! But any how, I thought I'd drop by and introduce myself. Happy Prospecting!

I am new to prospecting, I have panned in the past and used homemade sluice boxes with little success, but I think it is time to upgrade. I am looking into buying a sluice box and could use any help and or recommendations that you might have. I will primarily be using the sluice in and around Colorado. The two sluice boxes I have been looking into lately are the 36' prospector Bazooka gold trap and the Grizzly 3 sluice. I understand that the grizzly is operated on the bank not directly ...
