No Properties in Virginia 4378 11
Started by dogmom@k9dejavu.com
I just joined and was shocked that there are no properties in Virginia to explore. Where I live near Goldvein Virginia there are a lot of old gold mines in the area. I expected there would be some sites within the state. I also would like to find a person to go out with. If you live in Virginia and need a prospecting buddy contact me. I have found few areas that are public land near old gold mines, I used a metal detector around one today but the metal trash was impossible to work around. I wil...

Arizona, Cochise County Claims 2973 3
Started by jackeyl@hotmail.com
I am a newbie and we are planning a trip to Arizona in late Sept early Oct. Our Main destination is Maricopa County claims but we are coming from Houston in RV and would like to stop in Tombstone for a couple of days to sightsee and thought we would hit one of the claims listed in the Mining guide for Cochise County. I went to check website for any possible new additions since publication and found no listings for Cochise county. Does this mean the two GPAA properties listed in the guide are no ...

Online Mining Guide 2843 6
Started by taylorconley90@gmail.com
Hello all. I am just getting back into prospecting after many years. Last time I was a GPAA member there was only the annual membership where I received the paper mining guide. This time I opted for the monthly which only gives me access to the online claim guide on which I only see center of claim and ingress points. Is there a way to find out the coordinates of the corner markers of the claims I would like to avoid accidentally claim jumping.

Hi all, I am a Oregonian and all my mining experience is high rugged pacific Northwest Forrest's, creeks, rivers... I took a opportunity to come visit and stay with a friend of mine in crescent valley NV, I have been here for a week and thought I was prepared...which I am sort of. I have equipment, and have been studying this area for a couple months now and I see lots of railing piles and waste dumps with small pits... So many hot rocks out here... It's beautiful out here, I'm ha...

Hello all! Jimmy here and I'm a brandnew, know nothing prospector that's looking to learn. I attended the GPAA Expo at the Puyallup Fairgrounds last weekend and received a great tutorial from Rick on panning and I'm hoping to learn about a few other things. First: Do you need to have a gold claim on your own property or property owned by family (that you have permission to use) From what I saw researching online, I shouldn't need one, but again, I don't know much and may have misread. ...

Lab Analysis Jobs 1250 0
Started by ompomelet@gmail.com
Hi Y'all, It's been awhile since I've posted. I'm finally in a good spot in Oregon to do some real Placer mining. I'm also job hunting and have a heavy science background with experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis. Does anyone know an efficient way to tap into the Mining Lab field I'm having problems finding the right search terms to find jobs like that. Any tips/referrals would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Mary

Hoping to Hit Rock Creek riches this weekend 1958 1
Started by tobey.mcmullen@gmail.com
Hoping to hit a few of the claims in Placer and Nevada county this weekend. I only own a few things to do this. I purchased a Garrett panning kit with a 15 inch 1/2 inch classifier and gravity trap, with a 8 inch gravity trap. It had some things to keep the gold in and a set of tweezers with a magnifying glass attached. Was like 40 bucks I think. Then I purchased a 6 inch trap for finer stuff. I hope to hit this claim first. Has anyone hit this one that can give me some pointers I was going...

I was researching the Nancy's Gold claim today and I found something funny, the exact same 30 acre location is also 1/2 of a 60 acre claim called Holy Moly, both claims are listed as valid surface Placer claims with different owners. How is this possible The most easy way to see it is on The Diggings site. Click the map link to open a larger map with clear claim lines. Or am I missing something

Hi all! New member/new prospector here from Skagit County in Washington. Safe to say that I'm a pretty terrible prospector thus far. I've found a tiny bit of gold, but I've still got a long way to go. Anyone here from Skagit County I'd be interested in meeting up with someone experienced who I could talk to. Lunch is on me! Happy to meet you all, Micah

Moved down from Washington state about a year ago and have joined a couple of different clubs to learn this new way of mining. I want to buy a dry washer but haven’t found enough gold to even consider putting the money out for a new piece of equipment. Tried many different ways and have tried to stay out of the main washes. But nothing worth while. I also have tried my monster 1000 and have filled up a snuffer bottle with small bb’s. I wish I could spend an hour or two with someone who can show ...
