4 Replies and 1931 Views SD & WY  1931  4 Started by  postalpotter@gmail.com I caught the fever. I now have a detector, a sluice, a pan and the urge to go. My first trip as a GPAA member will be to SD ,& WY. If there's anybody that reads this from the local area. I'd like to know which claims have running water in them and which one would be the best for a newbie to start out at.

Been watching Gold Rush the last 8 years and have always wanted to venture out on the weekends or weekdays to pan/sluice for gold. I am a current active duty servicemember located at Camp Pendleton, CA and was hoping to find some great locations (easily accessible safe to park) where I can take my son to pan/sl...

6 Replies and 1837 Views Plumas County Claims  1837  6 Started by  mikepanelli@yahoo.com Fires have made these claims pretty much inaccessible, and if the fire doesn't get you the smoke will. Will be awhile, maybe next year before you can get to them. This includes Joyce in Butte County. The fires there are extreme and we don't want to hamper fire fighters. They have enough on their plate. Hwy.70, Hwy. 89, Bucks Lake Rd., Antelope Lake Rd. Gennesse and Taylorsville Rds. from Beckworth and Portola. Stay safe, Thank You just a heads up.

The River was a bit lower this year so it exposed new areas to work. as Todd aka 'Topcat' has often declared 'It's not all about the gold.' it's the people we share this day with that make it so much fun for everyone. I filed my report on the Gold Basin AZ Bahde 10 &11 Claims. I will go back and add more pics and perhaps even a more detailed report with more information. Afterwards I began to search other claims to read other reports and I was really shocked to see hardly anyone taking the time to file their reports and the few I saw gave little info or intel. I vividly recall many members requesting it, so I was really ...

I was travelling across country during my gap year before heading to college. I rockhounded a little bit and was stopping into a shop to buy a rock hammer and saw a pan sitting there. I went to the Libby Creek Recreational Gold panning area and spent the next 2.5 weeks on and off working and meeting new people, everyone had something to teach and I loved every min...
