In November, weather permitting, I'm planning a trip to LLA and wanted to know if I can tent camp next to the dirt road just west of the claim. My plan is to camp along the road just west and center of the claim and walk to the claim. I know there is an elevation drop getting to the claim, but looking at google maps that appears to be one of my best options. Any suggestion, comments or ideas would be helpfull. Hi Kevin. My name is Tom Allen and I belong to your fine club which I enjoy alot. I was doing some research around Radersburg Montana and found out that the claim Carol Ann 1 was abandoned not to long ago, it borders the Hopeless claim and I think it was 40 acres. I was actually thinking about claiming it but thought the GPAA might benefit from it more than I would. I just thought I would let you know so you could add some more land to the Hopeless claim. Hi Kevin, i am new to the GPAA group and was wondering if you might have any contacts with folks around the Virginia City, MT area. My sister and i are going to take a trip over that way in late September and i see that there are not any GPAA claims there. I am also going tomtry and get ahold of the BLM over there next week and see if there are open places to do that. We are just beginners but want to find something if even just one flake...lol. Has GPAA ever considered a program to link GPAA members looking for a different experience with small scale mine operators. There are lots of us from the east that vacation out west that would be willing to provide free labor in exchange for the experience of being on a real operation. GPAA's role could be as simple as providing the forum for the parties to connect and maybe develop a liability disclaimer for members to sign that protect the mine operator. I have a question regarding a land matter thing.. - when you use LM and their ' Patent 'overlay.. does it mean, that if its in the area, that your looking into Prospecting which (has no active claims or has a old closed claim)! is that area still open for prospecting Or is the patent overlay a non issue Thanx Tad

Just curious if there is any information on running a recirc system to get beach gold in California I’ve tried looking it up and it’s just a bunch of old pages with old information and even looking it up on CA gov websites doesn’t have anything in black and white saying you can’t. Just want to make sure I’m not breaking a law that may or may not exist since nothing is easy to find when it comes to California.

Hello Ken, I was reading your exploits on research of the claims with drones and sympathize with your frustrations. If I may be so bold is to ask what brand were you using. I have a dji spark and was a little hesitant to use it in the desert to research the claims because of the same problems you stated in the pick and shovel gazette. You can PM me if it is out of order to ask you questions of paticular products that you use in the field. Thanks for all your work here at GPAA.

I was just informed by a local GPAA member that the states legislators are at it again. They are proposing legislation tthat would totally ban all motorized and gravity suction dredging in Washington State. It had it's first reading in both houses yesterday 01/17/2019. We need to get the word out and get everyone to write to their legislators to get this stopped as soon as possible.

Hi Kevin, I am a GPAA member and noticed a claim in my mining guide (Dickinson 2) that has a Member Report from an LDMA member of the same name. Since it is in my mining guide, is it safe to assume that I am allowed to go on that claim Guess I'm not clear on how the 2 different memberships relate to one another. Thanks for the clarification!
