In November, weather permitting, I'm planning a trip to LLA and wanted to know if I can tent camp next to the dirt road just west of the claim. My plan is to camp along the road just west and center of the claim and walk to the claim. I know there is an elevation drop getting to the claim, but looking at google maps that appears to be one of my best options. Any suggestion, comments or ideas would be helpfull. I'll be metal detecting only, using a Goldbug 2, and a 6' coil. I know the road can ge...

Hopeless 1 in Broadwater county Montana 1753 2
Started by tbagemstone@gmail.com
Hi Kevin. My name is Tom Allen and I belong to your fine club which I enjoy alot. I was doing some research around Radersburg Montana and found out that the claim Carol Ann 1 was abandoned not to long ago, it borders the Hopeless claim and I think it was 40 acres. I was actually thinking about claiming it but thought the GPAA might benefit from it more than I would. I just thought I would let you know so you could add some more land to the Hopeless claim. Have a nice day. Best regards Tom Allen

Hi Kevin, i am new to the GPAA group and was wondering if you might have any contacts with folks around the Virginia City, MT area. My sister and i are going to take a trip over that way in late September and i see that there are not any GPAA claims there. I am also going tomtry and get ahold of the BLM over there next week and see if there are open places to do that. We are just beginners but want to find something if even just one flake...lol. Thanks for your time, V. Fry

Has GPAA ever considered a program to link GPAA members looking for a different experience with small scale mine operators. There are lots of us from the east that vacation out west that would be willing to provide free labor in exchange for the experience of being on a real operation. GPAA's role could be as simple as providing the forum for the parties to connect and maybe develop a liability disclaimer for members to sign that protect the mine operator. Just an idea to throw out there that mi...

CA beach gold 6567 11
Started by brandon.n.barton92@gmail.com
Just curious if there is any information on running a recirc system to get beach gold in California I’ve tried looking it up and it’s just a bunch of old pages with old information and even looking it up on CA gov websites doesn’t have anything in black and white saying you can’t. Just want to make sure I’m not breaking a law that may or may not exist since nothing is easy to find when it comes to California.

“Where’s the Gold” feature in Gold Prospectors Magazine 1539 1
Started by realbillmccoy@gmail.com
Hi Kevin, I’m new and have only been around long enough to receive two issues of Gold Prospectors Magazine. The March/April 2019 edition contained a feature you wrote, titled “Where’s the Gold” that I thought was excellent. In my humble opinion, occasional success is what will keep members engaged and attract new blood into the hobby. And the ability to efficiently located viable ground is key to having a good time and also one of the most difficult problems for the new prospector. ...
