Gold Screw Panner 7683 0
Started by pat2090@aol.com
I traded for a Gold Screw panning machine. The second day I went to use it the pulley came off the motor. After looking at it, it looks as though someone did some work on it that was sub standard. Basically I think I need a motor because I cannot get the pulley to re-mount. Is there anyone out there that can help I tried contacting Gold Screw direct, but they have not gotten back with me. I traded for this machine because I don't have the money to buy brand new. I live in AZ. My name is Pat 623...

Dry Washing 13056 2
Started by ptorre65@aol.com
Going to be in Wickenburg for two weeks. Would like to rent a dry washer, or buy one and bring it back to N.H. We have a 2' dredge, and have a friend with a 4' that we use in N.H. and Maine. I think we'll add a dry washer . We come out every year for two weeks and soon it will be for 5 or 6 weeks.
Thanks
Peepaw

Need Keene 8 oversize power jet dimensions 5386 0
Started by bebopgeo@gmail.com
I would like the dimensions of the new keene 8' over size power jet to check it with the old one if any one has them like the OD and ID of the power jet tube and length from where the suction hose stops in the clamp to the end of the tube and the size of the orifice in the water lugs the two lug type they start at 3' and go down to 1.5' ID. I think the old ones did anyway so if they made the power jet tube bigger thin the lug orifice should be bigger too

Mokolumne River 8491 2
Started by worldavi@gate.net
Has anyone explored or had luck prospecting in the area around Highland Lakes and the rivers creeks flowing through It seems like great country. I spoke to several fire rangers in the area but they said gold located south at altitudes around 4000ft. They said something that the area up around 7500 -8000 ft had no gold. Is there a direct correlation to the altitude at all Is it less likely to find anything at all. This area that I am speaking about is around highway 4 Ebbets Pass, and associat...

Clean up sluice methods n gizmos informal review. 15461 5
Started by JimAu9@gmail.com
I've recently been on a hunt for some way to further refine the black sand concentrates I bring home from sluicing or panning or other methods. A half bucket of heavy black sand super cons and gold mixed in takes forever to pan out. So. Here's what I've tried so far.
(Disclaimer. These things might work great for many. These are just my experiences.)
California Bucket Sluice Concentrator.
(lightweight thin plastic form). Inexpensive. About $30 plus shipping.
Hose is barely long...

Why gold floats, and what to do about it. 12539 0
Started by matt@rtmdesigns.com
Question that I get a lot:
'So you are saying gold is not heavy and it floats'
Answer I give:
Yes and no ---- actually it all depends on the shape of the object. You can make it float by giving it a very flat surface.
Compare this with the ships mostly made of iron (which is way denser than water), which float on water. But an iron nail will sink!

Good old days 14546 17
Started by mfrank@netzero.com
This seemed to be the best place for this post. Remember back when the old forum board was up and running and you could get some good info on prospecting, places to go, equipment to use and the knowledge of some of the old timers. Well it seems all that info is gone for ever, never to be given again. All the new people looking for info about what we ALL love doing, they will not get anymore, even the people from the home office that started to post things are now gone also and nobody cares. How c...

Facepower in blacksand cons...and using a magnet... 8976 3
Started by laosyakwash@outlook.com
I don't know about the rest of you but I live in an area that is loaded with heavy black sands... Lumpkin County, Ga. Dahlonega Gold Belt... When I first started I lost a lot of gold because there was just way to much black sand displacing the, what I call face powder gold... And, at least half of that black sand is magnetic... Every one always says that using a magnet will make you lose gold... To be honest, it does happen... If your like me I work hard for the gold and I want...
