WANTED - GEOLOGIST - Tucson, Arizona 7203 2
Started by Theace115@gmail.com
Hey guys / Gals...
I have been doing a ton of research on the Oro Blanco Gold District of (Ruby / Arivaca area) Southern Arizona!! from gulches to detect, from abandoned mines, to cemeteries, to the geology of the area. I am a sharp guy, I learn quickly and retain information when its taught to me in the field. The only problem, is when I read all of this information like:
'The principal formation is a series of more or less metamorphosed arkosic sandstones, qua...

Gemstone misidentification? 13867 10
Started by goldcrazy2@gmail.com
I found a couple of old claims in northern California with a mineral entry of tourmaline, yet I can find no history on them.
The only tourmaline I know about is around Pala in southern California.
So what gemstone(s) might be mistaken for tourmaline

Started by jennielovescars@gmail.com
<p>Whenever I'm out looking for gold, I always naturally get sidetracked by all the amazing specimens Arizona has to offer. Normally I'm the one that always gets all the gold equipment ready the night before, but yet I'm the first one to start finding rocks instead of the gold. Go figure! Guess its just my natural rockhounding ways! I always give advice to not dive into just finding the gold when out on a claim, but also take a minute to look at the rocks around you. You never know what yo...

Finding Intresting Gems 11468 2
Started by shelawantwo@gmail.com
Hello Fellow Prospectors,
Over the past couple of months my soon to be husband and I have been doing some prospecting. We have found a good amount in gold in some VA dirt and some others. I am getting married in November and have a specific dream for my wedding ring. I want to melt down the gold (refining, etc..) making it into a wedding setting. While prospecting we also have found several large almandine garnets. That when you put under a LED light it's a bright red ...

Started by pyungahn1@yahoo.com
Hi guy's
We're here in Lake Havasu City, AZ, looking in the desert for quartz formations called desert roses. They are formed very much like roses and look very cool.
Found a few dozen having fun wandering the desert. Have fun all. Bob.
