Started by nodnorthewise@gmail.com
Hey everybody, Wasn't sure which catergory to post this in, but here it is. And I know this is not a GPAA/LDMA event, but thought folks who were interested or might have missed the announcement about the change, might like to know.
Just wanted to let anyone know who had planned on going to the 'Hogfest' at Gold & Gems in Cleveland, GA, June 6-8th.
That event has been moved to Alabama Gold Camp, in Cragford, AL, June 6-8th.&...

Hey all, Went to Ala Gold Camp again this weekend, 5/3-5/4. Here's some pics of the pile after we were working it (forgot to get a before pic, sorry), we moved about 1/2 the pile. Figured it to be about 3.5 yrds we moved. Ran about 7 hrs total, 4 on Sat, then 3 on sunday. Pics of the gold from AGC and my unit (set up at the Buchanan Claim) also follow.
This is quickly becoming a favorite place to go for me. I know it's not a GPAA/LDMA site, and it d...

Gold from Ala Gold Camp 8855 2
Started by nodnorthewise@gmail.com
Hey all, Took a trip to Alabama Gold Camp couple of weeks ago to test my hand built highbankerw/gold hog mats based on the Gold Hog Viper unit. Ran it on Sat. for about 3 1/2 hrs, put about 2 yrds material from the piles through it, split the cons with another couple that helped shovel with us. Figured out near end of the day I was running too hot, some of the mats weren't holding heavies. Slowed it down on Sun. ran 1/2 the material and 1/2 the tim...

I have been working in the rock crushing industry for some time now, and find myself always looking at a lot of rocks. Every time we set up in a new location i can't help myself but to take a sample pan from the fines that come off the plant. Most of the time i come up with an empty pan since gold is not very abundant in my area, but it never stops me from looking. My company purchased a used crusher plant from out of state, and brought it to the shop where i had the task of cleaning and repairi...

Hello everyone,
Thought I would repost an old picture to test things out.
Looking down at the Joyce claim, quite the hike! Getting anxious to get out and fill the pan with color. Rick
