Let the fun begin.. I have started building the floats for my 4" and my 2 1/2" dredges. I am using the material that Doc from Gold Hog used to build his. From his calculations the floats should float 640lbs total and I will use half for the 2 1/2". Since I don't know how much shoveling I will be able to do since my surgeries I do know I can float to use the dredge. I can have a battle of the dredges with my daughter Erica and we should be able to move more dirt..

    Mark,

I would suggest designing in some adjustability.
When the box loads up with water and material, your gonna wanna be able to move the balance forward or back to have the proper slope on your box.

    If you already haven't.

I would also suggest rounding the front leading surface to help the floats ride the water.

    Good Luck and find something.
