For Sale: Beach Lode Mineral survey # 17954 patented mining claim
Lode claim of 4.311+/- acres of steep, rocky land, on the east side above the old townsite of Eureka, high above the Animas River in the heart of the San Juan Mountains of central Colorado.
The claim was originally staked by Charles Baker, who, in 1860, lead a group of prospectors into the San Juan mountains and discovered traces of placer gold in the area. Nothing remains of Eureka except for the foundations of some buildings and the ruins of the Sunnyside Mill
To access the claim you will need to park at the camp grounds in Eureka and hike and climb up to the claim. There are no roads up to the claim. A portion of Niagara Creek runs through a corner of the claim.
