In a way I kind of miss the free for all, but that is where most of the issues came from..........

I can't see renewing my membership. This site sucks compared to the old forum. My mining guide is so outdated that it's useless.

New forum will take some time to get up and running with more people. Last guide was the brown cover in 2012, and a new one is due out this fall if everything goes well. The December P&S had a list of all the changes since the 2012 issue came out, just not the location or map. It listed by claim number in the various states, you had to do the research on each one. That i why it is important to keep all the P&S's on file.
At our chapter we are going to keep a binder with copies of all the claims in the state and possibly some in other states close by. Keep several sheets of each in a protector sleeve and they are available for the members to access and take one if needed. Would recommend this for all chapters to do.

If the new issue is coming out in the fall, Then I am wondering why I received an email from GPAA asking me where they can send the latest guide. i figured it was going t be sent out in a week or two. Maybe that was wishfull thinking?

Hey why doesn't the GPAA maintain a data base or report of active claims. That would mean a lot to the members....and then you can offer it for sale to the members. I would pay for it if it was done well. Its worth the money....what $75.00 or $100.00 per state?? Lets get with the times and give the members some real value that they can truely appreciate!!!!

I've had two emails like that. They know where I live. I think it's a tactic to get people to register on the new forum!

Hello Fellow Prospectors,
Every year that a new GPAA Mining Guide is produced, we need to remind our members to make sure that we have their current address for mailing. Third class mail does not forward, so a current address is needed otherwise it gets rejected and sent back from the United States Postal Service. Members call in wanting to know why they did not receive their copy, and then extra postage is needed to resend.
Our phone volume has gotten very high, and we want to talk to everyone to verify addresses. For some, logging into their account is easier.
The first batch for LDMA & GPAA Lifetime members as well as GPAA multi-year membership will be mailed directly from the printer starting this week (approx. the 10th of June), and then GPAA annuals will mail from GPAA Shipping starting the 30th of June (maybe sooner if the semi truck arrives early).
We are very excited with the latest edition of the 2014/2015 GPAA Mining Guide.

Hello, I'm a new one to your site but I have been out to the Dog Creek Clam in Idaho and had a fun time just getting around and trying to find the claim markers but could not. The claim did have boulders placed in front of the entrance road to the river. It looks as if the forest service placed them. I do have questions on camping on a claim on BLM land that is open to us as GPAA members. There is a campground right next to the claim that is a pay site. Any info on camping on our claims would be appreciated. I did take out 2 large bags of trash on the claim. Sad to see it in such disarray. Going back out this weekend and it should be fun again. Hoping to find more gold. Anyone who has questions on the area please feel free to contact me.Ill try to get up to the claim 28 miles north east soon and will let you all know. CCC

CCC-- General rule of thumb is that on USFS and BLM ground, "dispersed camping" is allowed for up to 14 days. Check with the local agency office for any restrictions as to fires, etc. Some areas you have to stay within 100 to 300 feet of the road (primarily USFS at this time). The Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) for that particular National Forest will spell out what is open and the general regs.

I would suggest a locked sticky in the for sale page suggesting/requiring pricing and general location on items listed for sale, and if the seller is willing to ship. This will help prospective buyers decide if it is feasable or not.
