Looks like I've beaten all of our welcoming members here to say welcome to the GPAA Family! They're always very good and quick to welcome new members to the association and especially willing to impart any knowledge or experience they may have that can help you in your journey(s). As most will mention, it's extremely helpful to contact the nearest chapter of any area you plan on prospecting. They will usually have the latest first hand knowledge of the land and can give you the best advice.

The Northern Hills Chapter looks like your best bet for the Black Hills, and seem to have been very successful in their efforts in the area and in the community as a whole.
