Robert, If you talking about California, I would not hold your breath Many years of wa wa wa, not much action, court appearances, injunctions on and on They "may" get us back in the water, but your time will be very limited, the permit will be ridiculously expensive and time wasting not to mention all the other hoops one will need to jump through to obtain a dredge permit "They" dont want us/anyone in the waters Science shows dredgings value to rivers and streams, does not meet "their" agenda, "they" wont talk about it I could be all wrong, time will tell, Bill

After spending nearly my entire lifetime in this state (I'm 60), this state is simply becoming more socialist and more over regulated. If the leftists in Sac and the entire coast had their way, there were be NO guns, NO hunting, NO pickup trucks, NO prospecting of any kind. NO to tons of things. Near Auburn and parts of the South Yuba where it is a CA state park, their regulations in those areas are "hands or pans only". Of course it is pure bullshit because the heavy rains (like we've had this past winter) stirred up TONS of river bed gravel. Ultimately, the leftists are anti-human because they believe humankind is a cancer on this earth (which they worship as if it were God Himself). I'm not ranting; this is truth.

Very few places have this weather, good paying jobs, can drive an hour west and be on the coast drive two hours east into the sierras Leaving behind TRAFFIC, too many people, homeless, TRAFFIC, stupid people, stupid people with to much money taxs or so the state doesnt let the people vote on a tax they call them fee's, we are buried in fee's Pay for express lanes, tax payer moneys to build, state collects the fee's to use It goes on and on...dont get me started LOL Bill

Hi Daniel.... i dont live in Sactown.. im in SoCal.. but if im going prospecting up there in NorCal. (I go up 3 to 4 times a year).. so, ill let you know, maybe meet up and do some searching....... . And @ William..... Bill, sooo true! Cali is getting more brutal!. Errrrr .. But at least you guys up North, have actual rivers mostly year round! If California does ever become North California (or State of Jefferson) ha and South California.. we are F---ed down here.. i really like that... if you live in Blythe,ca, and you drive 5-10 minutes and cross into Arizona.. you'll buy gas for $1.40 cheaper per gallon.... gotta love Cali.. haha

I went and checked out delta1 it looks promising. but do you, or anyone know how to get more precise locations on the claim, it says 160 acres but on mylandmatters.org (the only place i know where to find claim locations) it just says 2 claims in this area. thanks!

Robert. In the mining guide book, it shows ingress, center, and the 4 corner GPS cordinates.. There is 2 claims in that Section 22 ( in PLSS map on land matters) Delta1 gpaa DJAAR2 neighboring claim... Its kind of irritating when the online guide doesnt just have the same as the manual guide book...

Maybe look some of ya'll up near such a time. Maybe even meet some of you @ a meeting event or something. Gonna keep your numbers -OK? For now, busy going @ it solo & not here on-line very much. Good hunt'n!

Hi All, New to the organization as well. For my second trip to a GPAA claim am planning on visiting Bucky's Knowhere this Saturday (Aug 3). Would be great to meet up if others are interested. Plan to dig in the morning since will be in the 90s that day. -Shawn

"Natoma area"... I'm assuming you are referring to Natoma Lake/Nimbus Dam south of Fair Oaks/Orangevale? I grew up and started my panning as a young teenager on the American River just downstream from Natoma, at Sailor Bar. Piles and piles of dredging rocks. It was 1/2 mile from my house, at the end of Illinois Ave. in Fair Oaks. A few colors there hooked me with the prospecting bug, and I later had good luck on the North Fork of the American in the Auburn/Foresthill area. I left Cali in 1972, and have never been back. Seems I got out just in time...

I'm in Vacaville, still a new member but have been to a couple GPAA claims in Tuolumne and Mariposa counties. I've been wanting to explore in the Placer to Plumas counties but am unfamiliar to the territory. I have all my own equipment and would be down to join in on any excursions. trriley5@gmail.com

Joshua/Tom, Have been finding gold at the Bear River Campground and a spot on the South Yuba. I usually do day trips on the weekends if you guys are interested in connecting. Going to be raining this weekend but maybe the following weekend? Send me an email if interested. coldwaterprospecting@gmail.com -Shawn

I just found this post. I caught the gold bug while living in Roseville. I now live in Susanville, lassen county California. I am heading up to plumas county tomorrow to look at some claims. I just became a member 4 days ago. I will be going to placer county up on donner, sierra county and modoc county eventually but just to get my feet wet i am sticking to plumas. If any of you folks want to plan something let me in on the details. I can go most friday late afternoons to camp and start early Saturday and Sunday.

I’m in the Mammoth Lakes area, I was going to head to the Merced GPAA claims near Briceburg C.A., around the 23rd of August. Is anyone going to be in the area? I was looking at the Golden Eagle claim. Just beginning out. Will be my first trip to a real gold bearing river. Any info would be awesome too. Thanks.
