Please help.  Does anyone know what brand of waders (knee high) that Tom Massey wears in some of his episodes of Gold Fever?  My knee high waders have a steel toe and it gives me fits with my metal detector....Plus they give me blisters - Tom seems to get around, in the episodes that he is wearing his knee high waders, very comfortably.  They appear to be an all rubber boot.

Other than what Tom Massey wears, does anyone have a recommendation for "Knee High Rubber Wader" boots?  What brand is everyone else using and what do you think of them?  I'm not looking for the most expensive, nor the cheapest - Just a good quality, waterproof, all rubber, knee high, boot, without a steel toe, that I can use to walk in the shallow streams all day long without setting off the metal detector, getting my feet wet and getting blisters?   Thank You!

I've seen Tom wear a pair of boots that look very much like rubber boots that hunters wear. You can find them at places like Cabela's. Many different levels of insulation for different seasons. I have also seen others wearing Muck brand boots. I usually carry rubber hip wader fishing boots with me. I only use mine after I have my material classified and ready for panning or sluicing.

    Ron,

As Jon suggests, try Cabelas, Bass Pro Shop, Dicks Sports, any hunting/fishing supply should have something that would work.

I use industrial hip waders. They are developing leaks, so I will be shopping soon, Christmas maybe.
Hip waders are so much better than farm boots. Cant tell you how many times I have filled them with water, man that burns me up when "I" do that.

GREAT ADVICE!  Spent the weekend with one wet and one dry foot, courtesy of a pair of new Columbia knee high rubber, lined boots.
