    Went to a nearby creek with exposed bedrock, clays and gravel. Looked like a good place to practice with my new pan. Was not expecting any color as St. Louis Mo. is not known for gold. Couldn't believe I found a flake and 2 tiny rocks with color!

    You never forget that first gold in any creek. Great job there. Hope to run into you on a claim someday.

    Thanks Tim , I'm headed west early next year starting with winter camping in Colorado with my alaskan malamute Rocky. Thinking of sw oregon as my base camp after that, definitely have the gold fever now.
