My wife and I lode mine for gold, turquoise in SE Arizona.  We have a small crusher and pulverizer for free mill gold.  Sulphides I sell to a processor if the ore proves cost effective.  The Underground gold mine was mined heavily in the 30's for gold and silver.  The Underground turquoise mine belongs to a friend and we mine as needed for a percentage.  We enjoy both placer and lode mining and are fortunate to be able to do both.  I have open pit and underground lode mined in Arizona, Alaska, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming for copper, gold and coal, and in Ghana and Maurtania Africa. for gold.

Ed I have a couple hard rock mines here in Nevada and consistently work them.

I am working a lode mine in Nevada as well. I love those rocks!

I would think that a person that had a lode mine would be pretty busy working the mine. I know I would spend a lion's share of my time working the mine and devote some to prospecting other areas if they were close by.

I see that the lode mining here is not really a busy thread. I would have to assume that the majority of the miners here are placer miners. I understand that having a bunch of people in a lode mine is not really safe for the average person. I just wonder how many people here actually do lode mine on their own in addition to club claims?
