Just wondering if anyone has used this web site (mylandmatters.org). Is it worth joining? Is it up to date? Is it for real? Any thoughts welcome.

I was just wondering the same thing. I found this post by googling the question. Unless I'm missing something, you haven't gotten a single response to this question in about three months. Wow, this forum is really helpful.

Looks like the information is mostly open source information only they compile it into reports readily available to you. Mining claim locations I think are only down to the 1/4 section of a section. There are a few other venues online that also do this. They also give you the closed claims each month or so which is available on the LR2000 but they give it to you instead of you needing to look it up. If you need the services they are giving out they it may be good for you. There are some others out there also that do some of the same stuff. Have not used them so I do not know how user friendly they are.

Don't know about mylandmatters.org but we use Mine Cache. It's $30.00 to $35.00 a year and well worth the price. Good accurate maps and claim locales. It also interfaces with the LR200. Good luck -------------------------- Chris

Does Mine Cache show greater accuracy than the BLM 1/4 sections? (i.e. do the claim locations match what the local office is going to show? I haven't used it before, but I've started uploading maps/points to my Rino and want to get good information. Plugging in points from the GPAA claim directory takes a while to get lots of them on there. Might be worth it to try something else.

I have not used Mine Cache. But have used MyLandMatters to find claims based on interactive map and get basic township, range, & section. I then use that info at earthpoint.us and use the 'fly to google earth' to show the claim section overlay on google earth. It is pretty helpful if you like google earth. Not sure how accurate it is. It does have some claim owner info from BLM report too.
