We bought a MXT detector back in 2009, and I had maybe an hour on it in prospecting mode in eastern Oregon.  Had not been used since.  Dug it out last summer and got it cleaned up (batteries were still in it).  Joined a local MD club last week and they had a hunt yesterday.  Got some tips on setup from the club pres., and away I went.  He checked on me after awhile and after about 3 hours I had to call it quits.  Found two reproduction buttons from the civil war re-enactors that use the site.  One is 5/8" and the other is 13/16", both are spread wing eagles with breast shields.  Also found a 2 ring unfired bullet approx. .62 cal.  Pic is in my album in my profile. (haven't figured out how to pull it over here)

All in all pleased for a first attempt with a detector, and looking forward to more trips solo and with the club.
