I have been getting the same sort of newsletter from my Congressman, Rick Allen (R-GA), as well.

Do you plan on being at the Loud Mine in late March?

Hi Brad !

Funny you should ask that.

I have been shirking my sworn duties to pan and sluice every month since last October.

I either broke or sprained my wrist just before the October outing and it is taking longer to heal

than I thought it would. But, my thoughts have been on checking my waders for holes and looking

at the weather for the Cleveland area.

I think I will mosey up to that area later this month.

I haven't been to the WEGM Honey Farm claim in about a year.

It is almost right across the road from the Loud Mine.

So, I could possibly dip a sluice box in both in one trip.

Did you want to do a meetup sometime this month?

I will have two highbankers (2.5 Keene Combo and a GMS High Banker) with me for the trip.

Hi Brad !

Sounds like a fine time to scour the rust off of my sluice box and the dust from my pan.

I can make it up there on the Sunday, 03/27, more than likely. I hope the weather has settled down a little by then.

But, I've seen the Atlanta area get pounded and the Cleveland area barely get diddle-squat in rain.

The WEGM Honey Farm claim is great for dredging. The Town Creek/Tesnatee River runs about 3-4 miles through the property

and it crosses a fault near the Town Creek road. Some spots you can just wade out and dredge and others you gotta get wet all over.

It has several spots where the bedrock breaks through and has rapids. Some spots you gotta be in a boat to get to them.

This claim is one where the owner doesn't allow digging on the property. You gotta dig in the river/creek for prospecting.

Anyway, since I am "retired" I can mosey up there anytime during that week. Just gotta do my chores and be good so my wife will

let me go "play in the dirt".

Hi Brad !

The Honey Farm is the lease where the owner will not permit ANY digging outside of the creek.
High bankers are okay for stream dredging. There is a 50ft no disturb area along the creek banks.
Except for the creek access areas and there is no dredging allowed within 15ft on either side of those access
points. Panning and non-motorized sluice boxes are okay though.
And definitely NO cutting into the banks !
The club only allows one motorized unit per member to be active at a time.
But that unit can have numerous motors on it. Say, a dredge with 6 pumps running? Just as long as
it is one unit. A member with a guest can only have 1 motorized unit running. His own unit or the guests unit.

I generally make day trips up there in my 91 Suburban or my 2001 Jimmy. It takes me about 1-1/2 hours
to get up there from Snellville. I should start doing weeklong campouts using the Loud Mine as a base.
The Honey Farm is a dry camp area and the access roads can be difficult after a hard rain.
So, for amenities, the Loud Mine is the Best Deal.
