I have moved to the Black Canyon City area and will be here for some time. Would like to meet up with others in the area to prospect with. I have a 50" sluice, pans, a Garrett metal detector. Need to know good areas to prospect; both GPAA as well as other locations, as well as others to share in the fun.

    Hi Thomas,

I am the President of the Phoenix Chapter, the oldest, largest and most active chapter in Arizona. You may be interested in joining our chapter at one of our meetings and/or outings. Our outings are usually held (for now) in the Morristown area. We have members from all over, including Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, West and Central Phoenix and the east valley.

Our club meets near 12th Street and Glendale Avenue at the American Italian Club on the first Thursday of every month. The meetings include guest speakers on a host of different topics and we also hold gold nugget and door prize drawings for our members and guests. We have sponsored group outings and/or camp outs a minimum of once per month, and we also actively support our local community through fundraisers and panning demonstrations. The Phoenix Chapter has several mentors that will be happy to take you out and help you find some color.

You can get more information on our official website at www.gpaaphoenix.com, and you can join our very active Facebook Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/GPAP.Phoenix/

If you join the Facebook group, you can post your desire to find a prospecting buddy in your area. We have over 750 users in our Group.

We also publish a monthly newsletter that you can download from either the website or Facebook files. It contains club news and our calendar of events. If you can't make the meetings, you can attend them "virtually" shortly after they are held via our YouTube Channel, which is linked to our website under "Meetings". As of last month, we record and upload all of our general meetings for those who are unable to attend.

Please consider joining us at our one of our upcoming monthly meetings, or consider joining us at our March Common Dig or Spring Picnic. If you have any questions, you can always call me at (815) 585-1096.

    Regards,
    Randy Briggs

    Thank you, Randy.

I live in an RV and don't have a second vehicle, so getting to Phoenix is a bit problematic for me at this time. I will get to a meeting/show eventually I'm sure. Just mainly looking for experienced prospectors in my area to work with and hone my skills.

I'm a writer and would like to prospect to supplement expenses and clear my head from time to time.

    Regards,
    Thomas Mick

    Morn'n Thomas,

Lynx Creek. Ya gotta get a sluice set up in there around Prescott Valley.

Ya wanna clear your head? Crown King. Cool clean air, good folks, good food and cold beer. It's a secret place so don't tell anyone.

I thought Lynx creek was pans and metal detectors only.
