I have spent countless hours trying to find a geologic map of the Dale Mining district specifically of the area in and around the Hall of Fame claim.  Can anyone direct me to a good source?

    Thanks

    And happy hunting

Go to www.blm.gov/lr2000  scroll down toward bottom of page, you will see a highlighted link: "map viewer" click on that which will bring up the blm map of the US. Look at the menu on top and click on the township icon which looks like a grid. A information form will come up. [you will need to accept pop-ups on page] The location of Hall of Fame as per serial register page is San Bernardino Meridian, Township 2 south and range 12 east section 1. The mine is located in Subsection SW quadrant. The serial register page for all mines active and closed unless archived is the LR2000 mining report page which should be a regular accessed area for prospectors.

Thanks Walter, now all I have to do is get the government to turn on their BLM server! They must be recovering from a long drunken weekend or something!

Ah, finally got into LR2000 - I can see the map of the township and range, but I am looking for geology for the area. What am I missing here, Walter?

On the BLM map you can turn on different layers along with a base map. You may want to turn on the topo map base layer along with roads. PLSS will give you quarter sections and smaller including lots in some cases. There is also instead of a topo map a coverage map which shows you the tree cover and brush which gives you a look of stream contour and an idea if it was running when the shot was taken. these are not in real time. The more layers you have on at one time the slower the map will refresh. I do not think there is a layer that shows mineralization.
