Hundreds if not thousands of hours on the GB II. One of my favorite machines. BUT at 71kHz and fully manual there is a heck of a learning curve. You have to learn to set the detector to the ground and not the factory setting. Constantly ground balance the detector (meaning after every swig of the coil) and never use any of the discrimination. It is a powerful all metal detector and should be used in all metal for maximum results. I have found a lot of gold with the GB II and I have no plans of ever giving mine up. I actually have 2 just in case Fisher ever discontinues the machine I have a new one in the box that should last me through this lifetime. If you have the new mining guide read my detector section in the first 56 pages. you can also go to the Gold Trails YouTube channel and watch a couple of the videos where I am detecting and talking about setting up detectors. I may not be using a GB II but the setup in universal for almost all detectors. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5_w1T9VRTnF88GDGGJQBgA Most importantly, get out and get some time under your belt. even if it is your yard. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Regards, Kevin
