So has anyone been up to the Kevin Claim in North ID Recently? It's the closest GPAA Claim to where I am. Also has anyone prospected the Spokane River or Liberty Creek above Liberty Lake? Looking at the info I can find there has been gold found on the Idaho side of Mica Peak ID, but no info on the WA side. I have tomorrow off and plan on panning up Liberty creek for half a day to see if there is anything...

    Thanks GPAA,

A lot of claims in the Liberty/Copper/Swauk area, so do make sure you are in an un-claimed area for you explorations, and you have the gold and fish book on hand.

Thanks Arthur, I was actually referring to Liberty Creek behind Liberty Lake east of Spokane. The area I am looking at is about 1000 ft this side of the Idaho border. The MRDS data shows the other side of Mica Peak Id next to Coeur D'Alene has had history of gold.

Only one way to find out!

I'm originally from CD'A. unfortunately I was not in to prospecting at the time.. you can go to "mylandmatters.org" and see where all the lode and placer claims are and have been (historical). it is free. once you get on the home page click on the maps at the top, then mining claims on the side/ maps for Idaho. it will already have the LR2000 lode and placer claims checked but you can click the historical; claims and see where people have claimed before.
another option is go on to mine cache and pay the subscription. it links up to google earth on your computer and you can see the different claims...

    good luck..!!!

Welcome to the organization from the State of NW! I have to sit back and laugh at this one, the wording is so incorrect and yet I hate Grammar Nazis, if we could all just base off of our coordinates life would be so much simpler.

People that claim to be from the Mid West are generally from Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, and Iowa. But if you look at a map and divide the country right down the middle you can see that TEXAS is CENTRAL just like the time Zone, and it is the dividing point across our nation from East and West. Anything East of Dallas is the East making Missouri the Far East US, not the Mid West. Now if you really want to be correct geological speaking then we need to base it on the Continental Divided. If you live on the East side or if you live on the West side this changes things all together.

Based on geography and reality Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada are the true Mid West, California, Oregon, and Washington are the true West.

But what do I care, I think most of the people that live East of the Mississippi River need to stay there and never come across the river, passes should be granted for real people.

    Morn'n Jon,

I tried to get to the Kevin claim about 5 weeks ago. Didn't make it. Lots of roads not mapped. I ended up dropping down at a gate right on the highway at Murray.
Turned around and drove back over the mt. Found out from a local where I was camped that the gate is not locked. GEEZZZZZ... The locals were telling me that
the Kevin is completely worked out. Don't know that for myself. I am going to try to get there again this summer. I set up my camper at Eagle City Park. Dry camped.
The park has a pay-to-play claim. There were a lot of folks there. One ol boy with a high-banker told me he does pretty good. I didn't try as I had to leave. You have to
go to the Sprag Pole Museum if you get to Murray. Very interesting place. Food wasn't too bad either.
