    I'm planning a trip up by the Canadian Border in WA w/ a LDMA Buddy that dredges. I've never dredged before. I have several questions and would appreciate some advice. Wetsuits- Probably have to go used for now. What weight suit? I'm 6ft, 250, what size to look for?

    Any folks out there that have been there? Any info, suggestions??

    Thx

    JP

    Jim,

    I'll answer your question with questions

    What is the temperature of the water your going to be in, and for how long

    As I recall there are two thicknesses (weight) 3mils and 7mils, maybe more thicknesses now days

    Thicker = warmer for longer

    Farmer John style, which consists of lower (pants), uppers (coat with hood)

    Or the long zipper style

    Wet suit sizing uses their own sizing, check out a few wet suit sights to find the size that would fit you

    You want it tight so less water finds its way inside, I would also suggest gloves and booties

    When we dredged I used wet suit socks and hiking boots over them, booties were to mamby pamby for my feet

    Have fun and find some color

    Bill

    Thanks Bill. I'm getting dialed in pretty quick with good info like yours. I've got my size down, and mill thickness. Have a local dive shop that can help also. This will be an adventure trip for sure as neither one of us ever been there. Alot of mineral history up there for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing the glimmer of gold in the camp fire light in the evenings in camp.ha

    Thx for your help.  JP
