I just had a thought that might generate more interest in the site. If the powers to be generate a monthly thread on some facet of prospecting/mining, it would go over well with the masses. It can be on any facets of mining, be it panning, sluicing, dredging, drywashing, metal detecting (even to specific machines and basic setup, etc.), reading the ground, etc. If need be it could be a locked thread. It would be great if it came from the head folks in the organization, as it would show continued interest in us, the great unwashed masses. Open to thoughts of the users and admin, both.

Hmmmm.....almost a month and not even one comment as to being good, bad or indifferent. Oh well, it was a thought, and evidently not that good of one.

I think you have a good idea, however, the Pick & Shovel Gazette, does have articles on some of the idea topics you have suggested. It would be nice though if there was some sort of blog for those members who are very experienced to share that experience perhaps on a monthly basis with anyone interested in learning. If there were a growing following to these topics than it could be argued that this is something for the GPAA web admin to consider in the future. That's my two cents on the idea. Just say'in

Agreed, it does show up in the paper version of GPAA's media. I was just looking to generate more interest and activity here on the forum and get more folks up and running.

Very little excitement on this website. GPAA needs to send out email invitations to every member. If you post something, they should offer a t-shirt, hat or something like that for every member who post let say 10 posts.

Well i am new haven't revived my club info yet , sounds like a good idea what i need to know is where i can find gold in Va i dont want to go all the way to Cal learning the best ways to use the tools of the trade from a pro would be great.
