    Hello my name is michael and me and my wife are avid treasure hunters, we metal detect all the time. We go once a year to gold n grubbin mine in Georgia and gem and gold hunt. I have a 4 inch dredge, a sluice pans, my metal detectors all 9 im looking for some members that would be interested in having someone else to hunt with. Im new to the gpaa and would be interested in any help. Thanks

    Michael,

    Welcome!

    My wife and I are going to Loud Mine (1.2 miles up Town Creek Rd. from Gold and Gem Grubbin) on Saturday. We will be in a Black Dodge Ram, with prospector emblems, lol.

    I am going to do some prospecting and to catch up with the Care Takers at Loud Mine (great people!).

    I will probably bring my 12" Crisson Made Water Powered Trommel and the gold cube.

    Thanks for the offer but we go on may 4 for a week im hoping. I live in colorado looking for locals but i would love to go to the loud mine sometime too. But i need to go where she can find gems while i dredge gold.lol so maybe we can meet up in may some time and hunt.

    I have found a few gems at loud, but nothing like down the creek at Gold and Gems

    Gold and Gem Grubbin has some really nice amethyst, etc...

    I have found a very rough sapphire at Loud Mine (about 12 carats, but, almost shattered.

    Cool thanks so the loud mine is mainly gold wife would get bored. But can we mine at loud all day?

    You will need to upgrade to LDMA to mine at Loud as it is an LDMA claim.

    GPAA members can attend one of the outings at Loud and camp there and mine on their own time when not working on the common operation

    If you were at Gold and Gem Grubbing,  You could come by Loud to meet Crock the caretaker. You could also sign up for LDMA while you were there.
