    Hello friends,

I wanted to take a minute and wish every one a happy and safe holidays coming up.. Hope everyone gets some new mining gear under the tree or is able to spend quality time with loved ones..

I also wanted to make a new year resolution or set a goal for my personal mining adventures..

I hope to find our first ounce of gold with my kids this coming season. We have joined the LDMA a bit late in the season and have yet to visit any of the camps, but we are ready to create family adventures this spring.. I have started a new GPAA chapter and it struggles to become an official chapter,( lack of members ...   But through out my adventures,  I have meet some amazing people this past year, and made some long term friends I share adventures with. "you know who you are" .. And I hope to meet more of you in the future.

I would like you to share your mining/prospecting resolutions  here too.

Thank you to all who I have associated with on here or in person..                                merry Christmas from nevada

I have to second that motion. Each year has sharpened my knowledge and brought new friends that share the same interest in finding that elusive gold. Having my membership is only a portion of the overall solution to finding gold. I look at it much to be a key that opens the door to the opportunity. The rest of it is up to me to make the most of it, by making the decisions to go and get out in the fields, streams, mountains or whatever and its more fun when you can share that with friends who also enjoy the quest. Finding that first "ounce" is the beginning to 5 and then 10 and more. My resolution is to bring home that gold so that my wife says WOW....and she will know that all my trips to Nevada are not to the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.....but to the Gold Nuggets in Northern Nevada.

Merry Christmas everybody. Getting an ounce of Gold is a great way to inspire you on your Gold missions. My goals are to hopefully get our new President to end the siege of Gold miners & Prospectors by the USFS & BLM.

Dear Santa, Americas environmentalist whackos & extremist nut bags were all naughty this year. Please send them all a lump of coal.

This year I found a partner and two new rich gold claims. My resolution is to collect enough gold to make two wedding bands for myself and my wife out of the gold we found, (Which we achieved this year and just haven't done it yet) but also to pay the rent. The two new claims I got are rich with gold, and deep, so we are starting on the building of our new 4 inch dredge and getting the diving gear necessary, and building a rock crusher as well, plus a few other items.

Oh, and let me not forget, I intend on getting my explosives permit for breaking boulders.

Leo - You will find that nugget to show your wife, I know because we wont stop looking. We will have new places and new equipment to keep us busy this next season

Adam- I hope things turn around for the miners suffering unto the government. I know there has been a lot of issues on land matters, and dredging in CA.. and it will only take the right person to see the good and hopefully things will change around

Benjamin- it sounds like an exciting adventure you are going to step into, I hope blasting and rock crushing open new doors for you..

Today was my last official weigh in of 2016 and I am 2 oz. short of 40 lbs. loss on a plight that began ten and a half months ago after coming back from our claim in az. and noticing the mule was leaning more on my side. I had just had shots In both knees the month before and the old doc told me that every ib. of weight loss would be 10 lbs. pressure off my knee so my quest began. I was sorry about the lay offs at miller and budweiser  when I cut back on my favorite beverage, probably cost them at least a shift each. The secret is burritos and sex, they say that  three minutes of sex is the same as 30 minutes in the gym, well I'm up to 15 minutes in the gym. Happy Near Year. Tom

Gee Tom....You started that story off great...I thought it was leading into 2 ounces short of a 40 pound haul of gold for 2016..........well but anyways you need to take care of those knees if you want to be in the field.
