The first one is on the rotten luck willie claim on the banks of the ancient glacier flow and the second is in NV. heading up the steep canyon looking for the three pools of gold but there was a slide blocking the entrance of the canyon so she went over the top. Easy to buy for xmas, got her a new clay spade for her sdx max jack hammer. Had her around for fifty years or so and we can read each others minds. Tom

My wife goes on Gold missions, but she's more into putting a camping chair in the river and getting some Sun while reading a book. Her pink pan doesn't see much pay dirt.

Mine is who got me into prospecting, as well as metal detecting.  Sadly she passed two years ago, so am on my own with both now.

Arthur sorry for your loss sir. My wife got me started, she is disabled so does not get out much but loves to go prospecting when she is up to it. And she is a task master, having me fill and bring her buckets to sluice or highbanker all day long. I would miss her terribly.

Thank you gentlemen.  She has two girls who virtually disowned her when she divorced their dad.  Haven't seen either of them since she passed.  No family of my own.  Spent the 24th with friends in Salem and the 25/26th here at work working on a couple of model kits.

Oh cool, being with friends always makes Christmas better. What kind of models are you into? I work on model kits for years sometimes. This is the lighted Star Trek Bridge, lots of work.  e eE E-

Nice job on that one.  Mostly WWII aircraft and F4's and B52's from the "Nam era (my time).  Some ships.  Working on a 1/48 Japanese "Betty" in surrender markings (white with green crosses, 2 were done to fly the surrender delegation to Okinawa for discussions), and a 1/144 Gato sub, done as USS Wahoo (SS 238) in a diorama with Mush Mortons quote "Another running gun battle today- destroyer gunning Wahoo running".  Also doing a 1/32 F4D as Steve Ritchie's ace bird (67-463) from Udorn RTAFB when I was there.   If you get a chance, check out Fine Scale Modeler forum.

    Apologies for the OT hijack

Yup. Mine loves using my 2 1/2" dredge. This was taken this past fall up at Vein Mountain LDMA.

My better half is with me 97% of my mining time, and that is a good thing for many reasons

She is the only one who knows the location of the goods

She's not a bad shot, and knows me better than I know me....scary

Glad she comes along and puts up with me, sometimes that's not easy

Bill- sounds like you married my wife's twin!!  Same thing with shooting.  She missed a perfect score on her CCW by the thickness of a quarter....said all she saw for the target was her ex!  She did have a nose for where gold hides.

My wife is slowly catching the fever. Her first real prospecting trip with me came this past summer at Roaring Camp in California. She found a .8 gram nugget in our sluice box and that sealed the deal. She is the one that turned me on to gold prospecting in 2006 when she bought me a one day excursion to Roaring Camp. I was a relic hunter before that. Still enjoy relic hunting, but caught the fever so bad for the yellow stuff that I can't pass by a river, stream or outcropping without wondering if there is gold nearby. We live in Tennessee so I hope to expand her ventures for gold to the Eastern Gold Belt. She will be back for a week at Roaring Camp this summer.
