I have done plenty of research on the internet about building a dry washer.  I understand the air box, riffle tray design and hopper aspects.

My question pertains to the cloth/mesh system that is used to capture the gold and yet allow the air flow up from the bottom.

Anybody have any tips or suggestions?  I plan to have a 1/2" hardware cloth under the top mesh to help with strength and rigidity of the catch cloth... just need a little direction on the material to us that wont restrict air flow nor allow gold to drop through the tray.

I have found plenty of plans and diagrams to build, but none appear to have the cloth/mesh info I am looking for.  I figured someone here with more experience would be able to help me out.

    Thank in advance

I am not much of a dry washer but built one last year to go under my green giant trommel from aluminum I got from my kids scrap yard. used high quality muslin cloth but to make the air flow even I stuck the cloth to plastic knitting board, the stuff that has hundreds of wholes in it by gluing it to the board with 3 M heavy duty spray glue around the edges so if the board failed you just slide another one in for easy replacement. in using the board it did not mater how much air you threw at it because it   stayed even like the box pressurized and gave better recovery with out having to  adjust the air all the time. My box is pretty air tight. Tom
