Ok so here are pictures of my 4 inch dredge build. She is all done and ready for water. The wife named her "PEBBLES". She cost $1085.47 not counting the pump which is 2 years old but was bought at Tractor Supply for around $140 so add that to it and its a total of $1225.47 for her. Way cheaper than buying one plus she was made by me and with my design. I ran her last week on a temporary float and the flare and sluice ran great at 1/2-3/4 throttle. Can't wait to get her in a creek in the next week or so to run her. Oh yeah she is made with aluminum so its very light compared to a Keene 4". I like that I put 2 totes for storage on it so I can keep all my gear with me.  Happy Hunting.

Guess nobody approves or disapproves of my build since I have had no comments. Just wondering if there are any things I missed or should change. The flare/sluice works based off of my testing. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it or just plain ol comments, good or bad.

    Jim,

I got them for $360 for the 4 piece set from Martin Prospecting in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. They are hard plastic similar to the marlex floats but lighter weight.

    John,

I don't have diagram or specs on it as I changed the design as I built it. I could take some close up pics and take measurements for you if you would like.

    Looks good Freddie,

In the olden days, trash pumps would not generate enough pressure to operate a jet properly, especially at depth.
That's one reason OEM manufactures use a centrifugal pump, better pumps, less weight, higher pressure.
I do like the built in totes.
Be gentle with the aluminum frame.

Let us know how she works in the real world
    Good Luck

Looks great to me .Good looking build .And from what I can see you used all gold hog mats .It is all I use now in all my equipment.Oh and like was said watch the aluminum frame as it will crack from vibration easier than steel.

Freddie I would like to have you call me or e-mail. I do have some questions and could use a little help. I like the set up and am starting to do a build myself.

    Freddie,

How did Pebbles do in the creek? The design, ease of use and the fact that you hand built most of it is very impressive.

    Two Big Thumbs Up!

It runs great so far. I did buy a new higher psi pump last week for it so got to get it in the water to use it. the original pump was only rate 42 psi and the new pump is rated 94 psi, so should be able to run it easier and not 3/4 throttle, lol. I will get a few more pictures of it close up for those who wanted it and post on here. I have had a few ask about how the orange road cone is working and it works great. I don't use a punch plate or screen in the top like some do most times. I find my machine works better without it. it catches gold so im happy. the few times I have ran it so far I caught everything from pickers to -100 mesh, I tested my tailings each run 4-5 times and no loss that I can find, and 98% of my gold has been in the top matting, with only 8 specs making it to the sluices. so must be running pretty good for it to keep in in the box,

Sure is cool to see self-made equipment work out! I'm currently working on a 12" rock crusher. Should be done in a couple of weeks. I've got some pretty interesting ore samples to run!

Martin's is the best. I live in Hilton Head, SC and always stop at Martin Prospecting on my way to north GA. Nice job on the dredge! WAAAAY cheaper than any commercial build I've seen.
