Heard they are making improvements to the property and buildings, can't do it in the short ice free time they have and run the expeditions at the same time.  Have not heard when it will resume.

The Alaska Expedition is Not part of the GPAA organization. Tom and Cindy Massie retained ownership when they sold the GPAA to Brandon. I also heard they were shut down this year at least for much needed maintenance. I have heard that they will not be booking through GPAA if they start up again. Truly a great loss as this was a bucket list must do for most of us.

At the Burnt River outing, Dom said that Brandon asked Tom for dates this past summer but Tom never got back to him. Dom was hoping that next year Brandon would be able to get dates so that the club could do an outing.

Just one of the many quotes from there; "I was under the impression that the GPAA was not happy with the way Tom was running things. Didn’t meet GPAA standards. As far as I know, Cripple Creek is still up and running but is totally Tom Massey’s baby."

Thanks for all the info guys. Although my trip to Cripple River in 2012 may have ended in drama, I must admit years later I look back on those few weeks as one of the best trips of my life. I’ve even bought property throughout Alaska because of that trip, definitely a must do for any serious prospector.

I hope they bring it back.

I had the privilege of being at Cripple River camp the last day they were open in 2016. I enjoyed Tom and Cindy's company and caught a ton of fish and found good gold there that year. There is a lot of gold left. It was my third year there and miss the camp, the friendly crew and the fishing- Salmon Fever!!!

The fishing would be as good as the gold hunting. There are some big prices on fishing trips to Alaska. I think Tom just got tired out!

I attended the gold and treasure show in Ohio this year and the guys at the GPAA booth told us that Tom Massie personally owns Cripple Creek site in Alaska. They now use that property as their summer vacation home. They are no longer associated with doing Expeditions with the GPAA. There is a new private camp that is offering one week outings called the a AKUA. But be forewarned it is not cheap. They are running a special between now and January 1st two people is $4,000 at the camp. That does not include airfare or an ATV rental.

Just a note on this comment the AKUA mining group that now has the Alaska Expedition does not donate trips at the golden treasure shows. They donate a discount off your trip at the golden treasure show. Between now and January 1st two people can sign up to do one week at the camp for $4,000 and the prize that was donated was $1,000 off their trip price.

AKAU donated a trip at the Vegas Gold Show.

It was raffled off with the GPAA tickets. I know because I won......going next year
