    Hello

    I just purchased a membership tonight, and I was curious can I go out to a gpaa claim this weekend? even though I haven't received any of the gpaa equipment map,sticker hat etc.?

    And if so are there any claims around phoenix someone can give me directions? Ive got gold fever and I don't feel like driving to lynx creek this weekend! I just bought a fisher metal detector not the best one of course $, and I do have a small sluice box and gold pan!

    Welcome to the family, I am pretty new to GPAA too and it has been well worth the investment. I would call the claims department to get the rules but I know when I signed up it was at a Gold and Expo show in Fresno so I was given a Mining Guide and the Pick and Shovel for December 2013 which had updates in it. I would call the mining department as there are some great claims near Phoenix that are perfect for metal detectors. The GPAA staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and they actually go out and use the claims. I have been on claims near Quartzite, AZ and they were good claims and easy access. Good hunting.
