A good side by side is the bet method of travel. Travels the bumps better than ant jeep or SUV, cheaper on gas too.

4x4 with trailer for a quad. If the trailer is small enough, you can hook it up to your side by side or quad and move your equipment from camp to prospecting/mining area. That is what I used to do in GA, SC, etc...

I just got back from Arizona this week and rented a toyota 4runner and hands down for both off road and highway miles. I went down some trails that bulky truck would have skidded down and slid sideways. I never would have thought a vehicle that is comfortable on freeways could double as a trail rider too. I would not really try to haul too much with it unless it had a trailer.
