I totally agree, drywashing is a big thing here in the southwest.

Do you think Recirculating Sluice should be it's own category or part of sluicing? When the desert is wet or damp you can't you the drywasher.

How about a category called Desert Prospecting. Really I prefer the old format with just one category called Prospecting. Lots of good information and ideas shared in that category on the old forum.

I vote for Desert Prospecting category since it includes nugget shooting, dry washing, recirculating sluicing.

I am new to the Club and hopefully make the first meeting, Saturday 19th. I would like to see a "desert prospecting" category if possible since that is the way I am heading. Like to see what others are doing and hopefully learn a few things myself not to mention joining an outing!
    Thanks!

When I logged into the forum the first place I wanted to search was drywashing. To my surprise it wasn't listed. It deserves its own category!!! As far as recirc high banking or sluicing I think it should be a sub category under sluicing or high banking. It would be harder to locate if it was a category called desert prospecting if I didn't already know it was part of that topic. Using a recirc system isn't only restricted to prospecting in the desert.

I think that desert prospecting would be a good idea. It could include all forms of prospecting in a dry environment.

Dry washing and recirculating sluices are TOTALLY different animals.  I live in New Mexico, and both are a required skill sets to prospect all year round.  there is no dredging here...no high banking.  It's the desert.  Come on GPAA...expand your horizons here!

    Hey All,
This is about the only place I could find to post about my recent purchase.
I have one of the new Keene 190 series (actually the 192, with the wet upgrade kit) "dust-less" dry washers on the way. I hope that I might have it by the end of the week.....you know what I'll be doing on MY father's day!!
Anyway, I plan to post to the forum my views and opinions on the piece as soon as I get to mess with it some.
    Take Care and Happy Huntin'

Oh, I agree that maybe there could be a dedicated section in the forum RE: Dry Washing!

    Howdy Steven,

Had that thing for a couple of years now......it's a frickin BEAST!

Man, that washer runs us ragged. Works very well and captures very fine gold. The only regret I may have with this machine is the fact that it's a real bear to transport over rough terrain. Last year I picked up a claim in Western Arizona as an Anniversary present for my wife. The claim has very little in clear pathways to get ANYWHERE (LOL)! May have been better off with something a little lighter and easier to pack??? I am in no way taking anything away from this machine.....it works very well!

I also believe drywashing should have its own section or maybe all desert prospecting.
