I have one that I use off and on. It does work OK but I like my blower drywasher better. It does do a good recovery but is slower than a blower and you have to feed it slower but it does get the job done. I have not tried any other puffers so I can not comment on comparisons. 

I have one, works real good. A bit heavy to lug around compared to others, and it won't fold down with the motor on. Other than that it is a good unit.

I really like mine. I agree that it may not handle the same volume as some of the blower-type drywashers, but it seems to me that it kicks up less dust and it is much quieter. I also don't have to deal with the fuel issues (though a battery can be a pain to lug around). It is easy to switch to hand-crank mode and it handles all the dirt I can put into it.

Mine is my favorite piece of equipment.
