Has GPAA ever considered a program to link GPAA members looking for a different experience with small scale mine operators. There are lots of us from the east that vacation out west that would be willing to provide free labor in exchange for the experience of being on a real operation. GPAA's role could be as simple as providing the forum for the parties to connect and maybe develop a liability disclaimer for members to sign that protect the mine operator. Just an idea to throw out there that might help some small scale miners and provide a positive experience for some of us that are looking for a more structured prospecting adventure. GPAA club outings and shows don't always jive with vacation schedules. Thanks for all that you do, Tim Paulus

Interesting idea. Operators would have to be willing to let us know if they are open to the idea and that their operation would allow something in those lines in accordance to their approved operational plan. I’ve done this many times in Alaska but that was by knocking on operators doors and introducing myself after looking for active mining operations. There would have to be on the mines side, a release and any other legal items they would want covered as every operation is different. I think our (GPAA) role would be more in a losing of operators interested in this and then it would be between the owner and member to connect on the details. So if you are a mine operator looking for some help, email me.

There are a great deal of useful backgrounds out here.....welders, equipment operators, explosives experts, retired government workers, etc.... many of us are just looking for someplace to put our skills to use. Tim
