if you are in the dessert in So Cal I say hit Placer Pete. the washes are loaded with yellow. Hey Buddy 10 has a lot in the washes up close to the hills that look green and about 3' down in the lower area of the claim, not too many go to this claim and I do not know why. better gold there than most
Azusa canyon in Azusa in the east fork has produced excellent gold since the rains a mile and more from the east fork parking lot heaton flat trail head.
Lytle Creek claim if you find the right spot is a good one for the day with not that hard of a hike from the road

all the desert claims out in Kern have gold on them in the washes and low areas. you tube loaded with good videos.
