Outing was OK. Found a few fines on Brice at the confluence. Just did some sample pans, but sluices are legal all year. There is currently a dredge season, but it looks like dredging will be banned up there as of Jan. 1, 2020. Didn't get up Champion at all. There is access on Champion just above the bridge, parking just below it.
Easiest access to Champion Cr. is across Brice from the paved road. You will see a 4x4 weathered grey post along the paved road.....that is where Champion comes into Brice at. Good parking either side of the bridge on the paved road, and a vault toilet right at the bridge.
There is a sign on a tree along the road with a claim # and name "Barny's Rubble" According to the map in the guide, that sign is on Golden Cat. No signs on/for Cat though.
Road is paved all the way until you start up Champion Cr. Rd. That doesn't get much if any maint., the paradise claim is about 3 miles or so up that road.
