Florida is known for NO placer gold. Geology is just wrong. There are some treasure finds from the old galleon routes.

If I still lived in Northwest Florida Panhandle by the white sands which are supposed to be made of quartz, I'd take a pan to it, especially from the rivers that flow from Georgia. I would not buy a pan if I didn't have one, nor would I drive far to get there. I lived there before I had gold fever.
